Experience
Experience is often key to getting back into work, or improving your career prospects. The most common way to gain work experience is during employment; but there are other options.
Some of us need experience to take that initial step into employment, and some want to gain experience in a different area from the one they already work in.
Volunteering
Volunteering provides a great opportunity to gain experience in a variety of different areas. You can get involved with a wide variety of different areas, including opportunities such as conservation work, woodwork, befriending, stewarding festivals, working with local radio stations, supporting your community newspaper and much more.
The vast majority of voluntary positions will cover all your out-of-pocket expenses, and most importantly give you the chance to have a go at something new in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Work Experience
Depending upon your personal situation there are a variety of organisations active in the local area that run schemes aimed at helping you access the employment experience you need.
