Comeunity

Comeunity is the Neighbourhood Management Programme for South and Central Yarmouth. Neighbourhood Management is a way of improving services in order to raise the quality of life of people living in deprived neighbourhoods. The programme involves working with communities and local service providers - like the council, police, education, health and environmental services. Residents are at the centre of decision-making, ensuring that solutions are owned locally, rather than being imposed. Increasingly, neighbourhood management is seen as one of the best ways to improve neighbourhoods.

Voluntary Norfolk

Voluntary Norfolk is the largest voluntary sector infrastructure organisation in Norfolk. We support the work of voluntary and community organisations through a range of free and paid-for services and by providing a voice for the voluntary and community sector within key partnerships in the county. Members of Voluntary Norfolk enjoy additional and discounted services over and above our general advice and information which is available to all.

Voluntary Norfolk manages three voluntary sector development forums - in Great Yarmouth (GYVSP), North Norfolk (vcsTogether North Norfolk) and in Norwich city.

Voluntary Norfolk is the major volunteering organisation in Norfolk. We promote volunteering by managing three volunteer centres (Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Thetford), and a network of community volunteer co-ordinators based in local health premises. We also manage a range of specialist volunteer services, including a community transport scheme and advocacy, mentoring and befriending services.

GYLSP

Great Yarmouth LSP brings together the public sector, voluntary organisations, business and the community with the aim of working together to improve services and living standards within the Borough. The purpose of the LSP is to help agencies to work together in order to make the best decisions about services in their area and to help them contribute to meeting government targets in health, housing, the environment, learning, crime and employment. Meeting these targets requires that agencies work together as problems can be complex. Ill-health, for example, is a medical problem but can be caused by living in a damp environment or being unable to afford healthy food. The LSP brings people together to create a 'joined-up' approach to services and to allow the views of the wider community to be heard.
